Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission conducts Group 1 Examination . APPSC Group-1 Examination is conducted in 3 stages Prelims, Mains and Interview. In this article, we have discussed the exam pattern and Old question papers of APPSC Group-I examination.
APPSC Group 1 Preliminary Examination:
APPSC Group-1 Prelims contains 2 papers ( Paper-I (GS) and Paper-II) consisting of objective in nature .There will be 120 questions in the Paper-I (GS) consisting of History, Polity, Economy, Geography each 30 marks and there will be a negative marking of 1/3rd or 0.66 marks. The Paper-II has 120 questions consisting of General Mental Ability & Aptitude 60 marks, Science & Technology 30 marks and Current affairs 30 marks. The marks scored in both papers will be counted in the prelims scorecard . The marks scored in the APPSC Group 1 Prelims Exam will not be counted in final selection.

APPSC Group 1 Mains Exam Pattern:
APPSC Group 1 Mains examination contains 7 papers consisting of descriptive in nature out of which 2 papers are qualifying in nature. The marks obtained in the remaining 5 papers and the interview test together are considered for making the final merit. The marks scored in the APPSC Group 1 Mains Exam will be counted in preparing the merit list for final selection. Paper 1 (Telugu) and Paper 2 (English language) are qualifying in nature, with 150 marks each. Attempting all papers is compulsory.

APPSC Group1 Interview:
The final stage Of the APPSC Group 1 exam is Interview or Personality Test. Interview is for 75 marks. The interview is conducted by a panel of experts, including experienced bureaucrats, subject-matter specialists. Normally Interview takes 30 minutes time depending on panel. The interviews are usually conducted at the APPSC office in Vijayawada.
