Ministry of Home Affairs officially released the Notification to recruit 4987 Security Assistant/Executive (Group-C Non Gazetted) posts in Intelligence Bureau (Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau means different locations) for the year 2025 on 23rd July 2025. Online applications will start from 26th July,2025 onwards. IB Security Assistant exam is conducted in 3 stages Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III. Pay Scale:
- Basic: Level 3 (Rs.21,700 – Rs.69,100) The official will be eligible for allowances & perquisites as per rules of the Central Government.
- Approximate In Hand salary after deductions Rs.45,000
- Special Security allowance @20% of Basic Pay given in addition to other allowances
- Cash Compensation in lieu of duty performed on Holidays subject to a ceiling of 30 days.
Age Limit (As on 17-08-2025):
Age limit for IB Security Assistant Exam: 18 to 27 Years
Permissible relaxation in upper age limit for different categories in accordance with extant Rules/ guidelines of Government of India are as under:
- SC/ ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years

- Passed 10th class and must have knowledge of the local language

IB Security Assistant/Executive Exam Pattern:
The recruitment will be conducted in three stages:
Tier I: Online Exam (Objective-type)
Tier II: Descriptive paper
Tier III: Personal Interview/Personality Test
Tier-I Examination:
Tier-I Exam consisting of Objective Tests (Multiple Choice type Questions) for 100 marks will be conducted online . This test would be of 60 minutes duration consisting of 5 sections as follows:

1/4th of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted as a penalty for each wrong answer. If a question is left blank, i.e., no answer is marked
Note:
Cut Off Marks (Tier-I) for UR:30,OBC:28,SC/ST:25,EWS:30
On the basis of the marks (After Normalization) in Tier-I candidates would be shortlisted for Tier-II (10 times number of vacancy)
Tier–II Examination:
Tier-II Exam will consist of Descriptive Test for 50 Marks and Duration will be one hour. Descriptive exam will be offline mode.
Descriptive Exam: Translation of a passage of 500 words from Local Language to English and vice versa
The Tier-II exam is qualifying in nature. The qualifying marks is 20 out of 50
Tier-III/Interview:
On the basis of performance in Tier-I exam candidates would be shortlisted for Tier-III/Interview (5 times of vacancy) subjected to candidates must qualify Tier-II exam (20 marks out of 50)
On the basis of performance in Tier-I and Tier-III final merit list will be prepared.
